Rayna Remondini, is one of our original founding members. She is deeply invested in our community. She’s a dedicated mother of six and has been homeschooling her children for over 13 years. Rayna is also the visionary behind the Howard County Home-Educator Corp. and its subsidiary, HCHC Leadership Academy, a non-public, microschool in Columbia, MD.
James is a passionate history buff with a knack for tutoring students one-on-one to boost their math and critical thinking skills. When he’s not diving into historical facts, you’ll likely find him at the chessboard. A nationally rated chess player since he learned the game at age 6, James has been captivated by chess’s strategic depth and the thrill of meeting opponents on equal terms.
Paola is originally from La Paz, Bolivia, and brings a rich cultural perspective to her teaching. Her approach is deeply rooted in a 'learn through play' philosophy, making lessons engaging and effective. Native speakers like Paola are uniquely suited to teach foreign languages, as they ensure that the history and cultural aspects of their country remain integral themes in the learning process.
Collin brings a versatile musical background shaped by years of performance and instruction. Trained across a wide range of styles including country, R&B, and rock and roll, he’s been singing for as long as he can remember and teaching music for the past six years. Collin has played guitar for fourteen years and has been a professional performer since the age of fifteen. His experience both on stage and in the classroom allows him to connect with students of all ages, helping them build strong fundamentals while developing confidence, creativity, and a genuine love for music.
With a Master of Music in Flute Performance from the Universite de Montreal and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Southern Maine, Erin brings a wealth of knowledge to her teaching.
Her impressive performance history includes collaborations with the Brookhaven Flute Choir, the Columbus Community Orchestra, the Hampton Roads Flute Choir, the US Army 1AD Band, and Flutopia Flute Choir, among others.
Erin is an active member of the Flute Society of Washington and the National Flute Association. She lives in New England with her husband and their three children.
With a degree in early education and a background in special education, Tiffany brings energy and enthusiasm to every lesson. She will lead Circle Time, Art, and STEM for our Sprout students, creating an engaging and fun learning environment. Passionate about making learning an adventure, she keeps children excited and engaged while mastering new skills.
Passionate graphic designer, illustrator, and artist with a BFA from the prestigious Maryland Institute College of Art. With over 10 years of experience teaching. Beyond her work in design, she's created murals and collaborated on philanthropic and communal art projects that aim to connect people, spark inspiration, and bring beauty to public spaces. Shay's goal is to create art that is visually compelling, emotionally resonant, and impactful.
Michele is a lifelong learner who brings the passion of learning to all her classes. With over 32 years of experience teaching children, Michele believes in meaningful, engaging lessons that incorporate all the senses. Children learn best when given the opportunities to explore and wonder about the world around them.
Jesse Masinter (Mr. M) earned his Master’s of Education from Johns Hopkins in 2021 and spent 6 years
teaching high school and middle school ELA in Baltimore City Public Schools. He is the founder of Novel
Exchanges, a business dedicated to creating life-long learning opportunities for children and adults alike. He is
passionate about project-based learning, and he believes education should uplift children’s voices and create
opportunities for students to pursue their passions.
Dania's goal as a teacher is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where every student feels confident in their abilities. She strive to adapt lessons to individual learning styles, encourage curiosity, and build resilience by helping students see challenges as opportunities for growth. Beyond academics, she aims to mentor students in developing strong study habits, self-motivation, and confidence that will benefit them both inside and outside the classroom.

Dr. Beese has studied self-directed and personalized learning for almost a decade — including at alternative schools for her fieldwork for her Ph.D. in Learning Design and Technology from Purdue University. She’s observed closely how self-directed learning environments are created and sustained in real life. Dr. Beese is also an experienced teacher, with years of experience as an online instructor and as a tutor with students from 2nd–12th grades. Most of all, though: as a researcher, Dr. Beese has over a decade of experience in self-directed learning that she can share with your student!
